Welcome to another Friday challenge at Digitally Sweet Challenges! This week our theme is Layouts and we give a nice sketch to use as a reference. I love sketch challenges and to see how it can be interpreted so many ways. Our lovely sponsor is Scrappiness Designs.
Here is the layout I created:
I used the digital scrap kit called "Make Me Smile" from Scrappiness Designs to create this layout of my daughter, Aurora, and her great grandmom whom she called Nani. The pastel colours of this kit really matched the pastel colour in the photo. It was done completely in Photoshop using only the one digi kit.
Thanks so much for visiting my blog and having a look at my DT project. I do hope you will join in the fun for this week's challenge but DON'T forget...all our challenges run to the end of the month and there are 2 other challenges still going and it's not too late to enter our Colour Challenge and Anything Goes challenge too! Best of luck!
Happy Scrapping!
Hugs, Dorothy

DSC #122 Layouts Only Week
Hi there everyone! I know I took a long break over Christmas but it was necessary...I'll leave it at that...lol. But welcome to 2015 and we have a new challenge up at Digitally Sweet Challenges so come check us out!
as a reminder, Digitally Sweet requires that you use some type of digital image in your crafting. We have a new sponsor so we decided to add a LAYOUTS ONLY challenge to our line up. You can only make some sort of digital scrapbooking layout, it can be a real life page or a digital one but you must use a digital image by either printing it out or doing the whole thing in some sort of program.
Our sponsor is the lovely Scrappiness Designs and here is what I created using her kit called "Happy Noel."
This is a Christmas photo of my hubby and our Christmas tree in 2013. The ole hubs has lost weight since then and we also have verticle blings on our glass door now. But it was a nice sunny winter's day...lol...a rare thing here in the UK.
I do hope you will join us for this week's challenge at Digially Sweet and thanks for visintg me.
Also...Have a HAPPY 2015!
Peace & Blessings, Dorothy

Happy Black Friday all! I sure hope everyone in the US had a terrific Thanksgiving Day! Hubbs and I had a cozy little Thanksgiving here in the UK. My British hubby likes us celebrating this holiday since I'm American. He likes turkey dinners but tonight it was a simpler meal than I would have made if we lived back in America. Plus being just the two of us and I happen to be Vegan. I roasted him a big turkey breast though and there is plenty leftover for his sandwiches the next couple of day and for the dogs to have a bit of course...lol.
It's time for this week's challenge at Digitally Sweet Challenges and guess what? I'm the challenge hostess this week for an Anything Goes Challenge! Our sponsor is Stitchy Bear Stamps and I used a winter scene digi stamp:
The above is a digital image I created in Photoshop. I used the Lake Winter digi stamp by Stitchy Stamps at Stitchy Bear Stamps and a freebie digital scrap kit by Digilicious Designs to create this peaceul winter scene. I'm not a big lover of snow but I can appreciate a good winter scene...lol. Thanks for having a look this week and hope you will join us for this week's challegne at Digitally Sweet!

Here I am with my latest Design Team project for Digitally Sweet Challenges and we have an easy these this week...ANYTHING GOES! So I know lots of you will join in the fun. We have a new sponsor this week that anyone who loves digi kits will love: Scrappiness Designs! She was kind enough to provide the DT with one of her adorable digital scrapbooking kits and I did myself a layout:
This is my hubby and daughter back in 2011 while we were on our summer holiday to Canet Plage, France. This was one evening while sitting outside along the beach at one of the many bars and restaurants. We've spent a few summers here as we rent a wheelchair accessible apartment and spend a few weeks at the beach. It's not far from the border of Spain as well so we usually drive down to Barcelona while there. We LOVE Barca...amazing city!

DSC #96 - Boys at Play
I know I've been gone a few weeks. Well it's been busy around here with work this week but last week my hubby took an unexpected week off from work. He had no appointments so we did a bit of sightseeing. Wee took a few day trips out and about the UK and it was lovely since the weather was so great. IT was warm and sunny all week! That's kind of a miracle here...lol. This week though...UGH...it's back to rain, wind and chill.
But it's Friday and it's time for my DT project for Digitally Sweet Challenges! Our theme this week is BOys at Play and we are sponsored by Lunagirl Images! I chose a nice vintage image and decided to digital scrap it:
But it's Friday and it's time for my DT project for Digitally Sweet Challenges! Our theme this week is BOys at Play and we are sponsored by Lunagirl Images! I chose a nice vintage image and decided to digital scrap it:
I did this in Photoshop. I used the Lunagirl image of the 3 boys plus bits of a freebie digi scrap kit and some vintage clip art images. Then I used a PS Action for the text. This is a simple layout but I really liked the paper and didn't want to cover it all up yet wanted to showcase the boys' image.

FTU Digital Scrap Kit - "Waiting For..." by Rucola Designs
Bird & Hand Images - Free Vintage Digi Stamps
Gold Text PS Action - ActionFX (no longer online)

DSC #92 - Holidays/Vacation
Yep, it's Friday and I'm here with my DT project for this week over at Digitally Sweet Challenges. Our theme was Holidays (UK) or Vacations (US) and we got to choose our own image to work with from our terrific sponsor, Lacy Sunshine Stamps! I've done another digital image this week as my craft room is a bit torn apart. More on that later.
This was completely done in Photoshop. I coloured in the digital image in a couple different ways each section on its own layer. Then to each layer I added an Inner Glow with a little bit of Noise. The colours I used came from the digital scrapbooking kit I used. I found a free clip art image of a tent. The background is a mountain image that I layered over papers from the kit. One paper was a gree/blue gradient then I added the cloud paper underneath and played with the Layer Properties so they blended well. The wording at the top eas done using an alpha that came with the scrap kit for the word "fun." I used the font Qarmic Sans for the word "camping." Al the other bits in the image and the frame are from the scrap kit.
A little about the scrap kit: I have been collecting freebie digital scrap kits since 2007 so you can image how many I have collected over the years. Funny thing is I couldn't find a camping kit so I improvised with this kit. It's no longer available so please do not ask me where it is. What I can tell you is it's called "Discovery" and its designed by Kim Cameron over at Daisies and Dimples. This freebie is a few years old and she has since closed her personal blog...sorry about that dearies.
My poor craft room is a bit blocked off at the moment as we had a water leak in our house. This has been going on awhile and the water company FINALLY came and rerouted the main supply but the pipe had to come in through half of my craft room. It's done now so I hope to be back in there this weekend! Hope so as I have a swap due and I want to do a video of my project. YIKES!

DSC #81 - Add a Frame
Welcome to my FIRST official Design Team project for Digitally Sweet Challenges!
This week we are sponsored by Stitchy Bear Digi Outlet. We, the DT, were given a wonderful choice of image to create from. I chose this fushia to create a lovely layout with photos of my daughter, Aurora, and the digi stamp. I left everything monochrome as I kinda like that look in my home. How I did this is below:
I started with one of those simple frames that is just a pane of thin glass with clips that clip it onto a mat base. Mine was large, 12" x 9.5" which is larger than an A4 piece of paper so I had to adapt it somehow. I created my layout in Photoshop by opening a A4 sized image then added my daughter's photos, the fushia digi stamp and a canvas texture looking border which I printed out on good quality paper.
I trimmed the image some so it fit evenly under the glass. I clipped the frame back together. Then I took black cardstock and cut out a frame a little bigger than A4. The borders are 1" wide. Then I handstamped around the frame, covered with silver embossing powder and heated it up. I glued this right on top of the glass. I hand punched small butterflies in white card, added some silver embossing to those as well and scattered them around the frame.
This frame is going to hang in my lounge. I'm sure my daughter will hate it...lol...but I love it. Hope you like it too and it inspires you to use digital printable around your home!
SUUPLIES USED:
Stitchy Bear Digi Outlet - fushia stamp
Papermill Direct - 12" x 12" black cardstock 300 gsm
X-Cut - Buterfly punch (just picked this up at The Range for £3.99!)

The digital scrap kit I used was a freebie I downloaded today over at Pixels and Company.
I colourised the digi stamp in Photoshop then assembled the page using Craft Artist Pro.

A "Deer" of a Challenge
I missed last week's challenge due to craft room woes (more on that later.) So I'm back with another digital layout for Digitally Sweet. This week was an inspirational image. The image of choice racked my brain a little so I decided on the obvious...a deer and similar colours.
Scrap kit used: Sunny Daze Freebie Mini kit by Mari Koegelenberg from Sweet Shoppe Designs.

Welcome Back & Scrap Layout
It sure has been a rough winter around here. Beside it being so cold for so long and my hubby and mine's (accounting, bookkeeping, payroll) business is growing, doesn't seem I've gotten much of anything else done. No cards, no crafting, no scrapping....NOTHING. I do hope that's about to change though...lol.
Now that spring has finally sprung here in the UK, hubby and I are finally starting to get things done around the house. One new thing is the stuffed up gutters on our house. In 2 sections they are so filled that they caused leaks in our ceiling inside...YIKES! That's scheduled to be fixed. We have spring cleaning of our bedroom on for this weekend. Next on the agenda in renovating my little craft room.
And I can't wait!! I am a messy crafter but I do like having my tools and bits organised. It's easier to find things when each item has a home. My biggest problem with my craft room is....I cannot keep anything up higher because I am in a wheelchair. Since I'm paralysed I cannot stand up at all so I cannot put things on nice shevling units. Everything and I do mean EVERYTTHING has to be down low within my reach. And my room is small, just a little extension really, that has to fit my wheelchair it in. Once that project gets going I will get some photos posted.
In the meantime, I'm doing some digital scrapbooking. A few weeks back I joined the Designer Mentoring program over at Scrap N Pieces. We are in week 4 of 6 and once our kits are done, I 'll let you know when they go up for free download in their forum so you can snag some great digital kits. There are a bunch of categories and I'm an Intermediate designer so my group each member is making their own kit, same with the other Intermediate group and the Advanced. The Beginner groups are making a whole group kit. For my kit, it's called "Each Day is Ours" and here is my colour swatch:
That leads me to the last item for today. I opened my Craft Artist Pro this morning to make a layout! Shock horrors I know...lol. I found a challenge blog that is for digital craft and scrap images so I thought I would enter this week. Here is a layout of my lovely daughter.
I have lots of graphics programs: Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, GIMP...but I do like making scrapbook pages in Craft Artist Pro. It's so easy and I love the templates. i even converted a few of my kits to CAP!
I'm entering this layout in the following challenges:
Digitally "Sweet" Challenges - Bingo "N" frames, flourishes, free, sewing, ovals.
C.R.A.F.T Challenge - A stitch in time, use stitching
Thanks for looking!
